This design of a KITA with social housing is determined by two premises: No tree of the old tree population on the site is to be removed for the construction, and the daycare center is to have a maximum of internal flexibility while maintaining the compactness of the building structure. Accordingly, the structure is divided into three interlaced volumes, which are placed between the trees. This results in different terraces for the use of the kindergarten. The careful stepping of the intertwined volumes gives the entrance area to the street a scale that is pleasant for children and creates a small plaza as a prelude.
The interior of the daycare center is determined by the idea of a free and flexible exchange of children among the groups and a possible merging of the daycare groups. The manageability of the space for the staff plays a decisive role.
The social housing units have a separate entrance and are located on the upper floors of the rear structure with their own terraces. Set back from the street, this ensures maximum privacy.
